Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred Voice to Print Software lets you communicate with your computer in the most natural way - by speaking. After completing about 5 minutes of training you can start talking to your PC and your words immediately appear in virtually all Windows-based applications. Once you have the Dragon trained, you can quickly and easily convert your voice files from your ICDST10VTP Digital Voice Recorder to text. Just use the USB interface to download to your computer, then let the Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred Voice to Print software do its thing. While you're at it, there are many other ways to put the Dragon to work. Do you want to e-mail family, chat online and Instant Message with friends, hands free? Do you want your computer to type letters and reports for you? Sony's ICDST10VTP has many useful features that aid in both recording and playback. The easy-to-use Playback/Edit function lets you begin playback with the press of a button, then edit the recordings with equal ease. One Button Play from Record lets you switch from Recording mode to Play mode with one finger. Advanced Digital VOR (Voice Operated Recording) stops the recording during silent pauses, saving valuable recording time, then begins recording again without missing a single syllable thanks to the digital buffer. The Record-Pause function temporarily stops recording to allow for pauses in dictation or to provide time for reference to documents, then resumes where recording was stopped, at the press of a button. The Add-Record function allows you to insert and add additional information to any message without affecting the original. Digital Pitch/Playback Speed Control allows recordings to be heard at slower than normal speeds to facilitate transcribing or editing, or faster than normal to move quickly to a desired portion. The built-in 16MB flash memory can hold up to 5 hours and 34 minutes of recordings (depending on quality mode) and be recorded on over and over and over (you get the idea). You also have the option of creating up to five different message files for dictation or just to help keep your files neat and tidy.
Brimming with Technology
It's hard to believe all of the technology that can be squeezed into something small enough to fit into your shirt pocket. The slim style design is only one-half inch thick, with Record and Pause controls located on the side of the unit for easy operation. A built-in microphone adds extra convenience and eliminates the need for an external microphone. Likewise, a built-in playback speaker is handy for monitoring playback of recordings. Hi/Lo Mic Sensitivity enables you to record different situations, from group meetings to individuals, more effectively and the Directional Microphone function allows you to easily adjust the direction of the microphone for improved recording quality. Earphone and external microphone jacks allow listening through earphones for privacy or transcription and allows connection of an external microphone for special recording applications. The ICDST10VTP also makes use of "LPEC Codec" for a vastly improved frequency response that provides you with higher quality sound.
Look, See; LCD and LED
The full function LCD display shows the number of messages recorded, the recording length, date, time, and battery power remaining. A battery strength LCD provides a visible signal when battery strength is low. LED operation indicators (record/play) indicates red when the unit is recording and green when in playback mode.
